RentZed is a property rental and listing platform operated for users in Zambia. This Privacy Policy explains how RentZed collects, uses, stores, shares, protects, and may transfer personal information when users access or use the RentZed website, mobile application, and related services.
By creating an account, posting a listing, sending a message, uploading photos, using map location features, or otherwise using RentZed, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
RentZed may collect information users provide directly, including name, email address, phone number, password and login details, account type, property listing details, property location, city, residential area, rental price, number of bedrooms, descriptions, uploaded images, map coordinates, messages, notifications, preferences, and other information submitted through the platform.
RentZed may also collect technical information such as device type, browser type, session information, login activity, IP address, cookies, and usage data needed to operate, secure, and improve the platform.
We use collected information to create and manage accounts, display listings, support search and property discovery, support map location features, allow users to communicate through in-app messaging, send service messages and notifications, manage listing approvals and availability status, improve the platform, and help protect RentZed from abuse, fraud, spam, or unauthorised access.
We may also use information to comply with legal, regulatory, security, recordkeeping, and operational requirements.
Information submitted in property listings may be visible to other users of the platform. This may include property title, description, rental price, city, residential area, bedroom count, listing photos, availability status, contact number where provided for listing purposes, and approximate or selected property map location.
Users should avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive personal information in public listing descriptions, photos, names, or contact fields.
RentZed may allow users to mark a property location on a map. This may involve storing latitude and longitude coordinates for a listing.
Location information may be used to show the approximate or selected location of a rental property, help users understand the general area of a listing, improve property discovery, and help landlords manage listing accuracy.
Users should only mark a location that they are authorised to share. Where exact location sharing may create safety or privacy risks, users should choose an approximate location where available.
RentZed may process messages sent through the platform between tenants, landlords, admins, or other authorised users. Messages may be used to support communication, safety, dispute handling, abuse prevention, and platform administration.
RentZed does not sell message contents. However, messages may be accessed or reviewed where reasonably necessary for security, support, legal compliance, abuse investigation, or enforcement of platform rules.
Users may upload property photos and other images. Uploaded photos may be publicly visible where they are attached to a public listing.
Users are responsible for ensuring that uploaded photos relate to the property being listed, do not expose unnecessary personal information, do not infringe the rights of others, and are uploaded with the necessary permission.
RentZed may remove or restrict content that appears unlawful, misleading, unsafe, abusive, infringing, or contrary to platform rules.
RentZed may use cookies, sessions, tokens, local storage, or similar technologies to keep users signed in, maintain secure sessions, remember preferences, protect accounts from unauthorised access, support platform functionality, and improve user experience.
Users may control cookies through browser settings, but some parts of RentZed may not function properly if cookies or session technologies are disabled.
RentZed does not sell personal data to third parties.
RentZed may share or disclose information where reasonably necessary to operate and maintain the platform, provide hosting, email, map, storage, security, app, or technical services, process account and listing functions, comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, enforce platform rules, investigate misuse, or protect users and the platform.
Service providers are expected to process information only for authorised purposes and to apply reasonable security and confidentiality protections.
RentZed is operated for users in Zambia. However, some personal information may be processed, accessed, transferred, backed up, or stored outside Zambia where RentZed uses service providers such as hosting providers, cloud services, email delivery services, map services, app distribution platforms, analytics tools, security tools, backup systems, or technical support services located outside Zambia.
Where information is transferred or stored outside Zambia, RentZed will take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are applied. These may include contractual safeguards, access controls, encryption where appropriate, confidentiality obligations, security measures, and compliance with applicable data protection laws.
Where required by law, RentZed will seek user consent, use approved safeguards, apply for required authorisation, or obtain any necessary approval before transferring or storing personal information outside Zambia.
RentZed does not intentionally collect or transfer sensitive personal data outside Zambia unless permitted by applicable law.
RentZed may retain account data, listing data, uploaded images, messages, technical logs, notifications, and related records for as long as reasonably necessary for platform operation, compliance, recordkeeping, dispute handling, fraud prevention, security, backups, and enforcement of platform rules.
When information is no longer reasonably required, RentZed may delete, anonymise, restrict, or securely archive it, subject to technical, legal, and operational requirements.
RentZed takes reasonable steps to protect user information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
These measures may include password hashing, access controls, HTTPS, session protection, database access restrictions, backups, monitoring, and administrative controls.
However, no website, mobile application, server, database, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for keeping their passwords confidential, using strong passwords, protecting their devices, and reporting suspicious account activity.

Users may request account deletion through the available RentZed account features or by contacting RentZed through the published contact details.
After a deletion request, RentZed may delete, anonymise, or restrict account information, subject to legal, security, operational, fraud prevention, and dispute-handling requirements. Public listings, messages, or records may not be removed immediately where retention is reasonably required.
RentZed is intended for users who are legally able to use rental and property-related services. Users who are minors should not create accounts, post listings, or submit personal information without appropriate parental or guardian consent where required by law.
Users are responsible for the information they submit to RentZed. Users should avoid posting unnecessary sensitive personal information, private documents, financial details, identity documents, passwords, or confidential information in public listing fields, photos, or messages.
Users should ensure that property listings are accurate, lawful, and posted with the necessary authority.
RentZed may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the platform, legal requirements, security practices, or operational needs.
The updated policy will be published on the platform with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of RentZed after the updated Privacy Policy is published means that users accept the updated policy.
